Listen: Stand firm...Spring Will Come

Starting a blog can be a little intimidating for an old lady in her fifties, but I am up to the task and anxious to get started on this journey.
For quite a while I have been thinking about sharing with my granddaughters the things that are important to me.  The goal of this bog is to do that and to be an encouragement to others along the way.

This first entry comes from the name of my blog ---The Whisper of 7 Oaks.---
I look out the window of my country home and see seven oak trees standing tall side-by-side.  I have seen these trees in the summer when they are full of bright green leaves and flourishing.  In the fall I have seen them turn into beautiful colors and then little by little start to drop their ugly brown leaves until there is nothing but bare branches.  When winter comes they look empty, but amazingly enough, there are days during the winter season when the snow or ice make them sparkle. They become a wonderful sight to behold.  Eventually spring comes, and all of a sudden buds appear.  It seems like over night these oak trees get their leaves back and grow fuller and taller.

These trees remind me of life.  We have periods when we feel like we are growing and flourishing.  It may be at our jobs, in our spiritual lives, with family, relationships, or even our health.  Then all of a sudden something happens that turns our summer and fall into a dark cold winter.  We feel empty, just like the bare branches.  We need to remind ourselves that even during
the coldest winter, beauty can shine, and eventually spring will arrive.  We have to stand firm, growing through the storms, just as these oak trees have done for many years.  Eventually we will come out of that winter fuller and stronger than before.

I want to encourage you to listen to The Whisper of 7 Oaks as they whisper to us that no matter what circumstances we are going through right now, stand firm and tall.  There can be beauty in winter when it helps us to grow and best of all.....

                              SPRING WILL COME !!!
